Backup presents its powerful message about climate change through thirty minutes of brilliant physical theatre and low-tech wizardry
The scene is a snowy landscape festooned with miniature trees and houses with lights twinkling and smoke puffing from chimneys. Along comes a tiny campervan containing three filmmakers on their way to capture footage of an icy landscape in a part of the world which is disappearing – the Arctic. Disarming, witty and inventive physical comedy, Backup
becomes a moving drama that compels us to face what we are doing to our planet.
Total Theatre Award winner and popular hit at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, Backup
is a first collaboration between two leading Belgian theatre groups with a shared interest in physical and object theatre, animation and video.
